Welcome to the website of St. Thomas a'Becket Church, Pagham, West Sussex.

The first church on this site was built by the Saxons 1300 years ago in the 7th century AD on land given by Caedulla, King of Wessex, to St. Wilfrid in gratitude for him helping to save the people of the area from starvation.
Later, when he returned north, St. Wilfrid gave Pagham to the Archbishop of Canterbury, who remains as Patron of the parish to this day.

We are today a thriving community dedicated to Jesus and His Gospel and to the expansion of His work within our church, throughout our parish and beyond, and were thrilled to welcome the current Archbishop, Dr Rowan Williams, on a pastoral visit last December [See below & Click on Recent Events above].
